Primary School
Welcome to TGS Primary!
Together, teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists combine their unique skills to deliver a holistic program of learning focused on the individual.
For us, early intervention is key, supported by the development of meaningful goals achieved within a nurturing and understanding environment.
What makes Primary at TGS different?
The key word for us isn’t ‘different’ but instead ‘unique’.
We aim to provide a mainstream educational experience with the support of specialists who understand the needs of our diverse learners.
Small class sizes, full-time assistants, HPE, Music, sport and co-curricular – we aim to deliver all the key elements of a robust schooling life.
Please note – you won’t ever hear us say, ‘read it again’, ‘you’re not listening’ or ‘pay attention’. Instead, we work with students and families to achieve extraordinary outcomes beyond what anyone ever imagined possible.
How do we do what we do?
We group classes in pairs of year levels, with the exclusion of Prep.
This means we can cater to a variety of needs and abilities within bands, working with age-appropriate peers.
Class sizes have approximately 12 with a full-time teacher and school assistant. Therapists contribute to curriculum planning and the development of PLPs and ICPs, as well as assist targeted students with skill development.
Students are assisted in accessing the Australian Curriculum through meaningful inquiry related to their experiences and interests.
But most of all? We love our students. We love their quirky personalities. Their unique view of the world. How they challenge us as educators to do more, be more and learn more.
Our goal is to be your partner on this journey. Take time to meet with the team, visit our campus and explore what we can do to help ‘fill the gap’.
