Enrolment Process

enrolment-procedureThe Glenleighden School provides a specialised program that is adjusted to meet the learning needs of children with a disability for whom language is the primary disorder.

The criteria for a placement at The Glenleighden School are very specific. Places are allocated depending on class vacancies, availability of government fundi ng and other factors.

On enquiry, our Enrolments Team will talk through your child’s areas of strength and difficulty with reference to eligibility criteria.

Please note that an enrolment application does not automatically ensure a placement for your child at the Glenleighden School.

As mentioned, the criteria for placement at The Glenleighden School are quite specific and your child is not guaranteed a placement when you apply. More detailed information may be requested as part of the information gathering process. The Enrolments Team will discuss suitability with the Principal who will make the final decision regarding placement.

If your application is successful, you will receive a letter of offer from our Principal via email and in the post.

If your child meets eligibility criteria, but there are no available placements, they may be placed on a waiting list.

Upon receipt of signed acceptance, you must attend a meeting with the Principal to complete all enrolment documentation.

6. Intake Assessment

Prior to commencement at The Glenleighden School, all students complete a series of assessments to inform program planning. Assessments typically take place over 2 days. You will receive a copy of the report and will be invited to attend a meeting at the school to discuss the assessment results and recommendations for programming.

7. School Fees

Glenleighden aims to be accessible to all children and young people who meet the enrolment criteria. We understand that at times financial barriers may prevent families from accessing our services which is why we offer fee assistance and moving forward we will be providing bursaries. The most important thing is for your family to discuss your situation with our enrolments officer so we can answer your questions and find a way to welcome you into the Glenleighden family.
